Proficient in the language of love? A passion for words can win a day-long Dayton date.

Three local businesses — St. Anne the Tart, Heart Mercantile and Roost Modern Italian — have united for a Valentine’s Day love poem contest.

Roost Modern Italian in the Oregon District was founded by chef Dana Downs who takes traditional Italian foods and uses modern techniques and ingredients to develop unique flavors. The dinner-only restaurant is located at 524 E. Fifth St. in Dayton. LISA POWELL / STAFF

The winner will take away $125 worth of lovely fun. “Winnings will allow you to go on the most romantic of Dayton dates,” St. Anne the Tart posted on its Instagram page.

The winner of the contest will receive a day of romance beginning with a $50 gift card for breakfast and coffee at St. Anne the Tart. Then drop by Heart Mercantile for a special gift and end the day with a $50 gift certificate at Roost Modern Italian for dinner.

The contest rules specify one entry per person and all poems must be original.
